Information
Passwords for ClipperID are valid for 365 days (one year)
- When your password is close to expiring, you will get an automated email, prompting you to update your password.
- If your password has expired before you have gotten the chance to change it, please see Reset Your ClipperID Password or Unlock Your ClipperID for instructions.
- Recovery methods are not the same as Multifactor Authentication. For information or help with Multifactor Authentication methods, please visit our MFA support page here: https://support.spscc.edu/set-multifactor-authentication
To change your ClipperID password when you already know your current one (i.e. when your password is about to expire)
- Navigate to ClipperID Settings Tool and sign in, if needed
- Use the "Old Password" space to enter your current password
- Enter your new password into the "New Password" fields
- There are password requirements displayed on the screen. If these criteria are not matched, an error will occur.
To change your ClipperID password when you do not know your current one: (i.e. you have forgotten your password)

To update your password recovery methods if you know your current password:
- Navigate to ClipperID Settings Tool and sign in, if needed
- Fields for both "Phone" and "Email" will be displayed
- Update your phone or email by using the fields - this may prompt you to re-input your password and/or use your multi-factor authentication once more to validate your changes
- NOTE: Only one method can be updated at a time. (i.e. setup for your recovery phone number will need to be fully completed before updating your recovery email)
To update your password recovery methods if you do NOT know your current password: (i.e. you cannot change your change your password due to no access to previous recovery methods set)
- This will require the IT Help Desk to assist by validating your Photo ID and assisting with updating the recovery methods
- This can be accomplished in one of two ways:
- Visit us in person: Mottman Campus - Building 22 - Room 132
- Call our IT Help Desk - A technician will direct you to a Zoom room where they will validate your ID and assist you further
