Know when to use ctcLinkID vs. ClipperID?

ctcLink

ctcLink is a system of online functions, centralized through the Washington State Board. All students attending a Washington two-year technical school will be provisioned a ctcLinkID.

Here are a few helpful tips to better understand your ctcLinkID account:

  • It is used as the username for logging into the ctcLink portal and only for that site
    • AND once logged into the my.spscc.edu website, you will be auto-signed in to the ctcLink portal without need to input your ctcLink number to access the portal
  • Your ctcLinkID is the same for all community and technical colleges in the state
  • ctcLink combines and upgrades many of our previous systems
  • ctcLink gives Washington technical/community collage students and employees a more efficient way of doing business
  • Think of it as your "administrative" portal for all your functions as a post-secondary student in our technical colleges here in Washington
  • ctcLink was implemented with all public and technical two year colleges in May of 2022, so it may be new to you if you are returning to SPSCC. You will need to activate your ctcLink using "Step 1" of this guide: https://spscc.edu/admissions/activate-accounts

ClipperID

ClipperIDs are accounts that are created and used at SPSCC for all our students and employees. They are for SPSCC courses and content.

Here are some tips to help better understand your ClipperID account:

  • Your ClipperID is your username for my.spscc.edu
  • Your ClipperID will be in email format i.e. pkracken2@spscc.edu
  • Once logged into my.spscc.edu, you will have single sign-on access to Canvas, ctcLink, email and many other SPSCC resources
  • If you are a returning student who attended prior to 2022, you will continue to use your ClipperID (your SPSCC email) for many programs and services. You may need to activate your ctcLinkID account using "Step 1" of the following guide: https://spscc.edu/admissions/activate-accounts
